MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – Senior forward Ryan Aquino (Roswell, Ga.) of the Georgia College men’s basketball team (6-1) was named the Bobcat Athlete of the Week, the GC sports information office announced Wednesday. This marks the third such honor for both Aquino and the Bobcat men this season.
Aquino added two more double-double efforts in a pair of wins this week, giving him five straight this season. Against Anderson, he scored 14 with 16 rebounds and three assists. In Saturday's win over Brewton-Parker, he netted 21 with 16 more caroms. The senior 6-foot-8 forward was efficient from three-point range, going 4-for-6. He ranks second in the league in rebounding, fifth in scoring.
The Bobcats finish action in the month of November at 6-1; GC returns to the court Wednesday, Dec. 14 at 7:30 p.m., starting the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) season at North Georgia.
