Georgia College Men’s Basketball Inks Armstrong

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. - The Georgia College men’s basketball program and head coach Terry Sellers announced the signing of Robert Armstrong Friday.

Armstrong, a 6-foot-7 forward, comes to Georgia College from Greater Atlanta Christian in Norcross, Ga. Robert averaged 8.0 points and grabbed 6.0 rebounds per game. He shot 55 percent from the field for the season.

“Robert is a great fit for our program and University,” said Sellers. “I believe his strong work ethic will enable him to develop his potential and become a good player in the Peach Belt Conference (PBC). Under the direction of coach Eddie Martin, Greater Atlanta Christian is one of the best programs in the state.  We are excited that Robert has chosen to continue his collegiate career as a Bobcat.”

GAC went 25-6 this past season. They were the Region 6A (AA) Champions and made the GHSA State Elite 8.

The Bobcats are fresh off a 17-10 season in 2011-2012 finishing fifth in the PBC. The Bobcats lose just three Seniors, including starting First Team All-Southeast Region and All-PBC forward Ryan Aquino, Jared Holmes and Mike Augustine.
