GC Basketball’s Aquino Starts in Reese’s All-Star Game
HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – Georgia College senior basketball student-athlete Ryan Aquino (Roswell, Ga.) was in the starting lineup for the 2012 Reese’s Division II All-Star Game Friday night. His East squad fell to the West team 120-110.
Aquino got the start at a forward position and played 19 minutes. While the 6-foot-8 forward was only 1-for-7 shooting for three points, he did yank down eight rebounds, including a team-high five on the offensive glass.
The honor caps a special season for Aquino, one that saw him earn All-Southeast Region First Team honors from both the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) and Daktronics. Aquino, was the only player in the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) to average a double-double, earning All-PBC First Team as well.
