MORROW, Ga. – Senior forward Ryan Aquino (Roswell, Ga.) of the Georgia College men’s basketball team was named to the Daktronics All-Southeast Region First Team, the organization announced recently. It was the first Daktronics First Team selection for GC men’s basketball.
Aquino led the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) in rebounding at 10.4 rebounds a game and also averaged 17.6 points a game to garner first team All-Peach Belt honors. Aquino also recorded 16 double-doubles.
Shooting guard Shaun Keaton (2006-09) was the only other All-Region choice in GC history, taking second-team honors in 2009.
Joining Aquino with first-team honors were Lander University’s Dwight Tolbert, the Southeast Region Player of the Year, the University of Montevallo’s D.J. Rivera, Sammy Emile from Mars Hill College and Craig Hayes of Mount Olive College.
