MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – Another double-double from Ryan Aquino (Roswell, Ga.) and another 20-point performance from Jared Holmes (Indianapolis) helped the Georgia College men's basketball team (6-1) overpower Carver Bible College 91-68 at the Centennial Center Monday night.
Holmes hit 10 of his 19 shot attempts en route to 24 points, giving him three 20-point games in his last four. He added six rebounds and three steals for a complete effort.
Aquino powered his way to 15 points and 13 rebounds, good for his sixth straight double-double. Junior guard JP Davis (Albany, Ga.) chipped in with 10 points and a game-high six assists, while classmate Quin Bivins (Macon, Ga.) had 13 points, including a trio of three pointers.
GC won the rebound battle 41-34 and caused 20 turnovers while giving up 14. The Bobcats shot 49 percent (35-72) from the floor, bettering the Cougars' 44 percent (29-66) effort. GC was a perfect 14-of-14 from the free-throw line, led by 4-of-4 from Holmes.
Bernard Parks led the Cougars with 23 points, getting help from Joshua Davis with 13 off the bench.
The Bobcats finish action in the month of November at 6-1; GC is back in action Wednesday, Dec. 14 at 7:30 p.m., starting the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) season at North Georgia.
