MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – Senior center Reece Wiedeman (Suwanee, Ga.) of the Georgia College men’s basketball team (5-2, 1-0 PBC) was named the Bobcat Athlete of the Week for the week ending Dec. 5. This marks the first such honor for both Wiedeman and the Bobcat men’s team this season.
Wiedeman powered the Bobcats past Lander University in GC's Peach Belt Conference (PBC) season opener Saturday. Wiedeman recorded a double-double with 19 points and 11 boards, going 9-of-13 from the floor and adding a pair of blocks.
The Bobcats have a big break, and are back in action traveling to Savannah, Ga. for the Hampton Inn & Suites Holiday Classic, hosted by Armstrong Atlantic. GC takes on Barton College (5-3), Friday, Dec. 30 at 5:30 p.m.
