GC Men’s Hoops Adds Sunshine State Big Man

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Georgia College men’s basketball program and head coach Terry Sellers announced the signing of Josh Brown Monday.

At 6-foot-10, Brown played his high school basketball at Clearwater High School (Fla.) for head coach Allen Carden. The post man averaged 7 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 blocks per game this past season.

“We thought Josh played well when he came in and worked out with our team,” said Sellers. “I believe his best basketball is ahead of him. With his strong work ethic and coachable attitude, we believe he has a chance to be a good player in the Peach Belt Conference (PBC). We are glad to add another post player to our 2010-2011 recruiting class.”

The Bobcats are fresh off a 16-10 season in 2010-11, finishing third in the PBC. The Bobcats lose two seniors, including starting center Reece Wiedeman (2006-11), who was named Second Team All-PBC and starting forward Josh Hurst (2007-11), who earned a spot on the PBC All-Academic Team three years in a row.
