INDIANAPOLIS – For the first time this season, the Georgia College men’s basketball team (14-8, 8-6 PBC) has made an appearance in the NCAA Southeast Region Rankings, pulling in the No. 8 slot in the poll released Wednesday.
The poll is used to determine the region’s five at-large bids to the NCAA Tournament in March.
Georgia College has gone undefeated in the month of February, rattling off a quick 5-0 mark, including wins over national-No. 7 Augusta State University and No. 22 Georgia Southwestern State University last night after the poll came out.
Augusta State is the No. 2 team in the region, behind only Lincoln Memorial University. Seven of the 10 region slots are owned by Peach Belt Conference (PBC) schools, with the Jaguars second, Georgia Southwestern at No. 3, Clayton State University sixth, the University of Montevallo seventh, USC Aiken ninth and Armstrong Atlantic in 10th.
The Bobcats are back in action Saturday, Feb. 19 at 5 p.m. for the annual Homecoming game against Columbus State University.
