Wiedeman Named PBC Player of the Week

MARTINEZ, Ga. – Senior forward Reece Wiedeman (Suwanee, Ga.) of the Georgia College men’s basketball team (13-8, 7-6 PBC) was named the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Player of the Week, the conference office announced Monday. This marks the first such honor for both Wiedeman and the Bobcat men’s basketball team this season.

Wiedeman averaged 19.0 points and 6.5 rebounds per contest over two big wins this week. His best game was his first, a 25-point, eight-rebound performance in the win over No. 7 Augusta State University Thursday. He was efficient, hitting 10-of-15 from the floor. Wiedeman followed that up with 13 points, five boards and a pair of blocks in the win at USC Aiken Saturday.

All-time, the Bobcat men have had 20 players named to this list. The most recent honoree was Josh Hurst (Athens, Ga.) taking the title Feb. 22, 2010.
