MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. - Senior guard Ty Rowland (Lilburn, Ga.) the No. 14 Georgia College & State University men's basketball team (22-4, 15-2 PBC) was named GCSU Athlete of the Week for the week ending Feb. 28. This is the second such honor for Rowland and the seventh for the Bobcats this season.
Rowland had an outstanding week, averaging 21.0 points 5.0 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game over a pair of Bobcat wins this week. For Senior Night against the University of Montevallo Wednesday, he recorded 16 points, five assists, four rebounds and a trio of steals. Saturday in the win at North Georgia, the senior tallied a career-best with 26 points, adding six boards and four assists.
The Bobcats are back in action Wednesday, March 3 hosting the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Quarterfinal against Clayton State University at 7 p.m. The winner will move on to face either Francis Marion University or USC Aiken Saturday for an 8 p.m. start.
