KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Georgia College & State University men’s basketball team (5-1) beat up on Carver Bible College 122-74 for its lone game last week, and as a result moved up three slots in the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC)/Division II Coaches Poll, now standing at No. 18.

Bobcats Start Season on Right Foot with 89-77 Win Over Newberry
MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – After some tight first-half action, the Georgia College & State University men’s basketball team (1-0) opened things up with a 34-10 run early in the second half to down Newberry College (0-2) 89-77 at “Mean in Green Night” in the Centennial Center. The victory was also the 475th in head coach Terry Sellers’ career, 277 of which coming on the Georgia College bench.

Bobcats Battle Bears, Come Up Short, 69-66
MACON, Ga. – Super subs in the first half helped the Georgia College & State University men’s basketball team play an up-tempo game against the Mercer University Bears in a Coaches vs. Cancer exhibition contest and have a 35-26 lead at halftime. Free-throws and defense also played a major role in the success of the Bobcats’ first half as they hit 13-18 (.722) and forced the Bears to have 12 turnovers. A second half run by the Bears put them ahead and Georgia College was unable to recover, falling 69-66.

Augusta State University finished the season ranked No. 4, with fellow Peach Belt Conference (PBC) USC Aiken at No. 16 and Armstrong Atlantic State University ranked No. 25.
