Clark to Play Professional Ball Overseas

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. - Former Georgia College & State University basketball standout Aaron Clark (Suwanee, Ga.) recently inked a deal with a professional club team in Istanbul, Turkey. Clark will compete for TED Istanbul which plays in the second Turkish Division known as TB2L.

TED Istanbul finished last season 10th in Division B with a 7-13 record. During the regular season teams only play opponents within their group. Come playoff time top teams from both groups face off.

Clark leaves for Turkey Sept. 10 with training camp soon after. He credits the Bobcat coaching staff and his past teammates for developing his basketball foundation.

"There is no way I was ready to play at this level when I came to Georgia College," Clark said. "The whole staff has had a big impact on me."

During his senior season at Georgia College, Clark was the 2007-2008 Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year. He averaged 13.1 points and 7.6 rebounds per game and was the second-leading rebounder in the PBC last season.

Clark finished his GCSU career with 1,467 points scored, fourth most in school history. The center is second on the school's all-time rebounding list with 847, also the third-most in PBC history. He is the only player on the school's top-10 career lists in games played, points, rebounds, steals, assists and blocks.
