INDIANAPOLIS - For the first time since 2006, the No. 24 Georgia College & State University men's basketball team will head to the NCAA Tournament, after being selected as the fourth seed in the Southeast Region.
The 22-6 Bobcats will head to Augusta State University's Christenberry Fieldhouse in Augusta, Ga. taking on fifth-seed Barton College (24-6), the Conference Carolinas champion. Barton won the NCAA National Championship in 2007.
The regional tournament begins March 14 or 15 with specific details to come.
In the 2006 season, the Bobcats pushed through to a Sweet-16 bid, losing the region championship game. All-time, the Bobcats have now made five trips to the NCAA Tournament.
