MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. - Senior guard Shaun Keaton (Albany, Ga.) of the No. 14 Georgia College and State University men's basketball team (17-2, 11-2 PBC) was named GCSU Athlete of the Week for the week ending Feb. 8, the sports information office announced. This is the fourth such honor for Keaton and the sixth for the Bobcat men's basketball team this season.
Keaton paced the Bobcats to a pair of wins this week, averaging 18.5 points per game. He started the week with a 23-point breakout against UNC Pembroke, hitting 5-for-7 from three point and 8-of-10 from the free-throw line. He capped the week with 14 points and four rebounds in the win over North Georgia, adding a 6-for-6 from the line to go 14-of-16 from the charity stripe for the week.
Keaton and the Bobcats are back on the courts tomorrow, Feb. 11 at 7:30 p.m. against No. 20 Armstrong Atlantic State University in the Centennial Center.
