Keaton Takes Athlete of the Week for Third Time

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. - Senior guard Shaun Keaton (Albany, Ga.) of the No. 17 Georgia College and State University Men's Basketball team (17-2, 11-2 PBC) was named GCSU Athlete of the Week for the week ending Feb. 1, the sports information office announced. This is the third such honor for Keaton and the fifth for the Bobcat men's basketball team this season.

Keaton led the Bobcats to two more wins this week, averaging 19.0 points per game. In Wednesday's win over Columbus State University, he had a team-high 15 points, three boards and a couple of steals. In the 79-76 shocker over No. 7 Augusta State University Saturday, Keaton exploded for 23 points, yanking down a career-high nine rebounds. With the week, Keaton moved into a tie for ninth in career points at GCSU (1130).

Keaton and the Bobcats are back on the courts Feb. 15 at 5:30 p.m. against No. 15 Armstrong Atlantic State University in the Centennial Center.
