MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. - Leading the Bobcats to the two game sweep at the Jameson Inn Classic, senior Shaun Keaton (Albany, Ga.) takes the Georgia College & State University Athlete of the Week award for the second week in a row. The award honors the top performance by a Bobcat during the week ending Nov 30.
Keaton dropped a career high 27 points, including four three-point shots earning a .409 percentage from the arc against Tusculum College Sunday. The four long balls puts him in second place in program history with 164 in his career at Georgia College, moving him past a two-way tie at 162 between William Northcut (1987-89) and Heath Colvin (1989-93). Keaton was also a perfect 5-5 at the free throw line and is one throw short of perfection with 18-19 and a .947 from the line this season.
The South Atlantic Region wins put the Bobcats at 3-0 in the early going. Keaton leads this drive after contributing 23 points more than any other Bobcat on the floor thus far.
The Bobcats are at home for "80's on the 8th" at 7:30 p.m. Monday at the Centennial Center against Carver Bible College. Last season the Bobcats defeated the Cougars 131-79.
