HILTON HEAD, S.C. – Georgia College & State University’s Aaron Clark (Suwanee, Ga.) was named the 2007-08 Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year at a special awards banquet at the league’s annual meetings. Clark and USC Aiken’s Mandy Gerolstein, the female recipient, were chosen by the league’s Faculty Athletics Representatives, who looked at information on each candidate and based their vote on 50% academic accomplishments, 30% athletic achievement and 20% leadership qualities. It is the first time that the league’s highest individual award has taken into account all aspects of the student-athlete experience.
