NEW YORK – The Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) released its most recent Nike Golf/GolfWorld Division II National Coaches Poll Wednesday, with Georgia College climbing one spot to No. 11 in the nation.
The Bobcats were listed third among six Peach Belt Conference (PBC) schools in the top-25. USC Aiken was second, with Columbus State University at No. 5. Behind the Bobcats were No. 12 Armstrong Atlantic State University, No. 13 Flagler College and No. 15 Lander University. Barry University pulled in the nation's top spot, nabbing seven of the 17 first-place votes.
Georgia College had a four-tournament fall season, staying within the top-10 in all four events. The Bobcats got better as the fall went along, taking third in both of their final two competitions, the Jay Jennison Memorial and the Aflac/Cougar Invitational. Senior Bryan Fox (Norcross, Ga.) led the Bobcats with a 72.2 scoring average, including a second-place finish at the Jennison.
The Bobcats start their spring season Monday, Feb. 10 at Matlock Invitational, hosted by Florida Southern College.
