MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Georgia College golf team and head coach Jimmy Wilson have announced a four-tournament schedule for the fall.
The Bobcats will play in three different states over these four consecutive weeks, traveling to South Carolina twice, and playing a tournament each in Florida and Georgia.
The fall season starts at the Spring Hill Suites Intercollegiate in Florence, S.C. Sept. 9-10. The Bobcats finished second at this Division I-heavy tournament a year ago.
The Kiawah Island Invitational comes a week later, a tournament the Bobcats have competed in for years. A tie for sixth place last year, returning senior Bryan Fox (Roswell, Ga.) narrowly missed a top-20 finish.
Georgia College will play in the Jay Jennison Memorial for the first time in St. Augustine, Fla. Sept. 23-24. Hosted by Peach Belt Conference (PBC) foe Flagler College, the tournament featured a tough 16-team field a year ago at The Palencia Club.
The fall season wraps up at the Aflac/Cougar Invitational in Columbus, Ga., Sept. 30-Oct. 1. The Bobcats were fourth in 2012, with three top-20 finishes, including now-junior Ryan Trocchio (Norcross, Ga.) in 12th.
The Georgia College Department of Athletics, two-time winners of the PBC Commissioner's Cup, sponsors 11 varsity athletic programs at the NCAA Division II level. As a Division II program, Bobcat Athletics prides itself on balancing the life of the student-athlete, evidenced by the teams' multiple appearances in post-season competition as well as documented academic success and community-service involvement.
