#14 GC Golf’s Garrett Named Golfer of the Week
AUGUSTA, Ga. – Senior Patrick Garrett (Kennesaw, Ga.) of the No. 14 Georgia College golf team was named the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Golfer of the Week, the conference office announced recently. It marks the first time a Bobcat golfer has pulled in the award this season.
Garrett finished tied for the individual lead in a tough field at the Rollins College McDonough Cup this week. Battling the elements, he fired a final round even par 72 Tuesday, added to Monday's 74 and 72 start. He finished a pair over par, locked in a four-way tie for top honors. Lynn University's Daniel Young separated during the playoff to score the individual title. Garrett has three top-20 finishes in four tournaments this season.
The senior has earned this weekly honor twice before in his career. All-time, the Bobcats have taken the weekly honor 16 times.
The tournament ends the fall season for GC golf, as they get a break until Feb. 11-12 at the Matlock Invitational in Lakeland, Fla.
