EATONTON, Ga.- The Georgia College golf team and head coach Jimmy Wilson will host the Bobcat Invitational beginning March 18. The tournament annually features one of the toughest Division II fields in the southeast and will be played at Cuscowilla on Lake Oconee.

The Bobcats will have a tough test, as the Bobcat Invitational will feature seven top-10 teams in the Division II Golfstat Head-to-Head Rankings. Along with the top-10 squads the tournament will also feature seven Peach Belt Conference (PBC) teams.

The top team participating in the Bobcat Invitational, and the top team in the GolfStat Head-to-Head rankings, is No. 1 Nova Southeastern University. The tournament features six more top-10 teams: No. 2 Barry University, No. 5 Florida Southern College, No. 6 USC Aiken, No. 7 University of North Alabama, No. 8 Columbus State University and No. 10 Lynn University.

The No. 11 Bobcats will be facing off with numerous PBC foes in the tournament. No. 6-ranked USC Aiken joins No. 8 Columbus State, No. 18 Georgia Southwestern State University, No. 19 Armstrong, No. 27 Clayton State University, Lander University, and UNC Pembroke.

Rounding out the rest of the field at the Bobcat Invitational is Carson-Newman College, No. 14 Rollins College and Valdosta State University.

Last year at the Bobcat Intercollegiate, GC Golf placed 10th, as the tournament was won by Barry University with a total score of 833. Barry ran away from the field last year, as the second place team Nova Southeastern was 10 strokes off the lead. The Bobcats ended the tournament with a score of 861. Last year the Bobcats were led by All-American Ryan Trocchio (Norcross, Ga.) who shot 208 for the tournament to take 10th; the top individual winner for the Bobcat Intercollegiate was Daniel Young of Lynn who had a score of 202.

The Bobcat Invitational will have three total rounds of play starting with two March 18 and a final 18 holes March 19.
