GREENWOOD, S.C. – With junior Bryan Fox (Roswell, Ga.) positioned in the top-20, the No. 13 Georgia College golf squad stands 12th among 17 teams Monday after the first two rounds of the 2013 Bearcat Invitational, hosted by Lander University.
The Bobcats shot rounds of 312 and 307 for a total of 43 over at the frigid par-72, 6,800-yard Greenwood Country Club.
Fox is 16th after two rounds, a pair of 75s for a six-over total of 150. Four strokes behind are the All-American duo of Taylor Smith (Mansfield, Ga.) and Patrick Garrett (Kennesaw, Ga.) at plus-10. Smith shaved two strokes off his first-round 78, while Garrett posted the same scores in reverse.
Junior Victor Monte (Chantilly, Va.) owned rounds of 83 and 78 for plus-17 in 79th place. Classmate Pontus Andersson (Helsingborg, Sweden) picked up the second start of his career, adding rounds of 83 and 79 for 18-over in 82nd.
No. 12 Belmont Abbey College leads the team race at plus-six after rounds of 293 and 289, dominating the field by 14 strokes. No. 25 Mount Olive College and No. 18 Georgia Southwestern State University stand second at plus-20.
Adam Hedges of BAC sits atop the leaderboard, blistering the course with rounds of 69 and 66 for nine-under par. MOC's Sebastian Andersen is second at two-under.
The Bobcats are ahead of six squads, including Peach Belt Conference (PBC) foes the University of Montevallo, host Lander and Flagler College.
The Bobcats take to the course for the third and final round tomorrow, March 26.
