MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – Junior Taylor Smith (Mansfield, Ga.) of the No. 18 Georgia College golf team was named Bobcat Athlete of the Week for his efforts in the week ending May 13, the GC sports information office announced Wednesday. This marks the first such honor for Smith and the third for Bobcat golf this season.
Smith led the Bobcats to the second NCAA Regional Championship in school history this week. The junior finished one stroke out of first place at five-under par 211. He carded rounds of 69, 72 and 70 to finish second among 108 golfers.
The Bobcats continue action in the NCAA Finals this week through May 19.
