Shida Named PBC Golfer of the Week

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – Senior Billy Shida (Duluth, Ga.) of the Georgia College & State University golf team took his first Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Golfer of the Week award of the 2010 fall season as announced by the conference Thursday.

Shida shot an incredible eight-under par at the Spring Hill Suites Intercollegiate Tournament, good for second overall and first on the team. He was only beaten by individual champion Chattanooga’s Chris Robb who shot nine under. Shida has shot well in both tournaments in this young fall season, also posting a score of even par at the Kiawah Island Invitational.

The Bobcats are back in action on Sept. 27 in Destin, Fla. at the Sandestin Collegiate Championship.

The Georgia College Department of Athletics, back-to-back winners of the PBC Commissioner's Cup, sponsors 10 varsity athletic programs at the NCAA Division II level.
