Bobcat Golf 10th in Final Coaches Poll
NEW YORK – The Georgia College golf team kept a top-10 ranking for the final Golf World/Nike Golf Division II Men’s Poll of the 2010-11 season, coming in 10th.
The Bobcats slip three spots from most recently appearing seventh in the list. GC ranks first among the six Peach Belt Conference (PBC) schools on the list.
Columbus State University is 12th, Flagler College is No. 18 and Armstrong Atlantic is tied for No. 21. No. 23 USC Aiken and No. 24 UNC Pembroke round out the elite six. Lynn University takes over the top spot in the country with seven of the 13 first-place votes.
The 2010-11 season was another outstanding one for Bobcat Golf. GC put four individuals on the All-Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Teams, with head coach Jimmy Wilson taking Coach of the Year, and senior Billy Shida (Berkeley Lakes, Ga.) adding Player of the Year honors.
