MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – Senior Billy Shida (Berkeley Lakes, Ga.) of the Georgia College golf team was named Bobcat Athlete of the Week for the week ending May 8. This marks the first such honor for Shida and the third for the Bobcat golf team this season.
Shida was three over par for three rounds at the NCAA South/Southeast SuperRegional this week, taking seventh overall. The senior posted rounds of 75, 71 and 73 over the three days.
The 2010-11 season was another outstanding one for Bobcat Golf. GC put four individuals on the All-Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Teams, with head coach Jimmy Wilson taking Coach of the Year, and Shida adding Player of the Year honors.
