MARTINEZ, Ga. – Senior Billy Shida (Berkeley Lakes, Ga.) of the No. 9 Georgia College golf team picked up his second Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Golfer of the Week honor for the Spring season this week, as announced by the conference office. Shida has now won the award after both of the team’s spring tournaments.
Shida saved his best round for last at the Argonaut Invitational this week, carding a 66 to leap from 23rd to take third. The senior was one of just five golfers to finish under par for the tournament at the par-72, 6,815-yard Pensacola Country Club course. Shida had rounds of 75 and 74 on day one.
This marks the second such honor for both Shida and the Bobcat golf squad this season. He is the 10th Georgia College golfer all-time to take home the honor in just the fourth season of the weekly award.
The Bobcats are back in action Monday March 14 at the First Federal Southeastern Collegiate, hosted by Valdosta State University.
