FORMBY, England - From across the pond, Georgia College's Niclas Johansson (Skanor, Sweden) competed in The Amateur Championship, often named the British Amateur, this past week.

On Monday (June 15), Johansson competed in the stroke play portion of the tourney. He fired a 73 and 71 good for 32nd place, which qualified him for the match play stage.

Johansson then went head-to-head against Jack Bartlett in match play format. It took 20 holes to determine the winner and Johansson was unable to advance to the next round.

Johansson, an All-PBC member, is also a three-time All-American, which is tied for a Bobcat record with fellow golfer, David Robinson. Johansson had seven top-10 finishes and 10 top-20 finishes to go with his 72.4 stroke average in 2008 play. Johansson was also selected to the All-Southeast Region Team.
