EATONTON, Ga. – Cuscowilla on Lake Oconee will once again serve as the backdrop for this year's Bobcat Invitational, as the No. 2 Georgia College & State University golf team will host the annual three-round tournament March 22-23. Seventeen teams will play two rounds Monday and finish up with the final round Tuesday.
The tournament has quickly become a who's who of top Division II golf programs in the southeast, as 12 of the teams are listed in the top-30 in the latest GolfStat Division II Head-to-Head Rankings. The tournament features three of the top five teams on the list, and seven of the top-10.
Host No. 2 and defending champion Georgia College leads the way, flanked by No. 3 Barry University and No. 5 University of North Alabama. Rounding out the field's top-10 teams are No. 6 Florida Southern College, No. 8 Lander University, No. 9 Nova Southern University and No. 10 Lynn University.
No. 11 Belmont Abbey College, and fresh off a team win at the First Federal Southeastern Collegiate No. 18 Valdosta State University bolsters the field. In the 20’s are No. 22 University of West Florida, No. 23 Rollins College and No. 26 North Greenville University.
Outside the top-30 are No. 34 USC Aiken, No. 37 Columbus State University, No. 45 Clayton State University, No. 50 UNC Pembroke and No. 56 Carson-Newman College.
