SALISBURY, N.C. - Wintery conditions wiped out day-two action at the Richard Rendleman Invitational Tuesday, so day one action holds up as the GolfStat No. 1 Georgia College & State University golf team took fourth in the 18-team field. The tournament was hosted by Catawba College.
The Bobcats were led once again by junior Joe Young (Cochran, Ga.) at 10th overall with an even-par 71 on the 6,665-yard Salisbury Country Club course.
GolfStat No. 13 Lander University took the team title with a one-under 283. No. 7 Belmont Abbey College was three strokes behind in second, while No. 31 Queens (N.C.) University is third at 288. Georgia College finished fourth with a plus-six 290.
Lincoln Memorial University's Eric Kennedy won the event with a four-under 67, holding off Lander's Davis Lee by a single stroke.
Head coach Jimmy Wilson's Bobcats are back in action March 15-16 at the Southeastern Collegiate, hosted by Valdosta State University.
