MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga- Junior Pedro C. Lima (Sao Paulo, Brazil) of Georgia College & State University's golf team was nominated Georgia College Athlete of the Week for the week ending Sept. 21. The announcement was made today (Sept. 23) by the university's sports information department. The award honors the top performance by a Bobcat student-athlete.
Lima was named the Peach Belt Golfer of the Week last week on Sept. 18. Lima helped lead the Bobcats to an impressive second-place finish at the Raines Development Group Intercollegiate hosted by Peach Belt rival Francis Marion. He shot 68-69 in the final two rounds to finish tied for fifth with a four-under-par 212. Additionally, Lima was the highest-finishing Division II player.
This is the first school honor for both Lima and the Bobcat golf team this season.
Lima and the rest of the Bobcat golf team will tee it up at the State Farm-Laker Collegiate Invitational hosted by Clayton State Sept. 29-30.
