Rain Interrupts #6 Golf at Raines Intercollegiate

 

FLORENCE, S.C. - Rain and lightning ended play with a few holes left in round two today (Sept. 15) at the Raines Development Group Intercollegiate, hosted by Francis Marion University.

After one round, the No. 6 Georgia College & State University golf team stood fourth with a 293. The 54-hole event is being played on the par-72, 7,062-yard Country Club of South Carolina course.

The Bobcats stand just one stroke behind Davidson College and three behind the tie for second between Winthrop University and East Carolina University. Georgia Southern University leads at nine under and 279. Georgia College is first among the five Division II teams.

Sophomore Billy Shida (Berkeley Lake, Ga.) shot a first-round 71, tied for ninth at one-under. Georgia Southern's Logan Blondell and Western Carolina University's Andres Cuenca share the individual lead at 68.

Weather permitting, action picks up again tomorrow.
