AIKEN, S.C. - Competing against 12 Division I teams in a 14 team field, the No. 6 Georgia College & State University golf squad is seventh after two rounds of the Cleveland Golf Palmetto Intercollegiate, hosted by USC Aiken.
The Bobcats have carded a 294 and 293 for a 587 cumulative score on the par-70, 6,617-yard Palmetto Golf Club course.
Junior Pedro C. Lima (Sao Paulo, Brazil) is third on the team and 46th overall with a 77 and 74 for 151, with Billy Shida (Berkeley Lake, Ga.) one stroke behind (72-80=152) in 54th. Junior Francisco Bide (Buenos Aires, Argentina/El Diamante (Calif.)) rounds out the Bobcat five in 62nd place (76-78=154).
Host USCA leads the team race (280-293=573) by four strokes over Liberty University. Charleston Southern University's Kelvin Day leads individual honors with a 72-66=138, good for two-under par, four strokes ahead of Johansson.
The final round begins tomorrow (March 10) at 8 a.m.
