TUCSON, Ariz. – The Georgia College Baseball team (39-10, 26-4 PBC) has claimed the No. 6 spot in this week's Collegiate Baseball Newspaper Division II Top 30 Poll. This is the highest the team has been ranked all season.
The Bobcats went 3-0 since the last poll, getting their eighth series sweep this season by beating Winston-Salem State University in non-conference play.
Of the other four Peach Belt Conference (PBC) teams to make the poll (Columbus State University, UNC Pembroke and USC Aiken), Georgia College was ranked the highest. CSU is No. 10, followed by No. 17 UNCP and No. 26 USCA. Delta State University takes over the top spot, climbing from No. 3 last week.
The Bobcats are back in action Friday, May 11 at 10 a.m. taking on Lander University in the pool play round of the PBC Tournament at Flagler College in St. Augustine, Florida.
