MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – Senior Charlie Hecht (Johns Creek) of the No. 8 Georgia College Baseball team (36-10, 26-4 PBC) has been named Bobcat Athlete of the Week for his efforts during the week ending April 29.
Hecht had the best start of his career Friday, out-dueling one of the conference's best in No. 5 Columbus State University's Kolton Ingram. Hecht spun his second career shutout, scattering four hits and two walks while striking out 10. Hecht got better as the day went on, allowing just two baserunners after the fourth inning.
The Bobcats are in action Friday, May 4 at 6 p.m. at John Kurtz Field as they take on Winston-Salem State University.
