Georgia College Baseball Ranked Second in NCAA Region Rankings

INDIANPOLIS, Ind. – The NCAA released the first round of Division II Baseball Region Rankings Wednesday, with Georgia College (34-9, 24-3 PBC) positioned No. 2 in the Southeast Region.

The Bobcats rank first for Peach Belt Conference (PBC) teams in the Southeast Region, with Columbus State University at No. 4, USC Aiken at No. 7, UNC Pembroke at No. 8 and University of North Georgia taking the last spot at No. 9. The Bobcats are 34-9 overall, with a 24-3 conference record, behind only North Greenville University of the Conference Carolinas (CC).

The final version of this poll is used to determine the five at-large bids to the NCAA Tournament, beginning May 17. The region has three automatic bids, given to the tournament champions for the PBC, South Atlantic Conference (SAC) and CC, and the five remaining slots are filled by the final version of this poll.

The Bobcats are back in action Friday, April 27 at 6 p.m., traveling to Columbus State.
