AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Peach Belt Conference (PBC) announced its final PBC Baseball weekly honors, with No. 24 Georgia College (33-14) catcher Steve Hazel (Kentwood, Mich.) winning PBC Player of the Week.
Hazel swatted two home runs over the three-game set with the University of North Georgia this weekend, finishing 5-for-11 (.455) with five RBI and three runs scored. The junior catcher had an on-base percentage of .571 while slugging 1.000. His best effort came in game two of Saturday's doubleheader, going 3-for-4 with a home run, three RBI and a run. Hazel is second in the PBC this season in home runs (12), 11th in doubles (17) and first in slugging (.739).
The Bobcats return to action at the 2014 PBC Tournament Saturday as the No. 4-seed, taking on No. 5-seed UNC Pembroke at 1:30 p.m.
