MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Georgia College baseball program owns an 18-4 overall mark and eight wins in a row, and has been rewarded with jumps in all four Division II Baseball National Ranking lists.
Georgia College leapt 14 slots in the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper (CBN) poll, lifting to No. 7, the team's highest rank of the year. The Bobcats are second among Peach Belt Conference (PBC) schools, behind No. 2 Lander and ahead of No. 14 UNC Pembroke, No. 21 USC Aiken and No. 25 Columbus State University.
In the CBL poll, the Bobcats move up two spots to take No. 7. Lander is No. 2 in this poll as well, with USCA at No. 8, UNCP at No. 12 and the University of Montevallo at No. 24.
For the National Collegiate Baseball Writers' Association (NCBWA), the Bobcats are again No. 7. Georgia College moves up five slots, and is behind one PBC school in No. 3 Lander. UNCP comes in at No. 23, while CSU makes an appearance at No. 25.
The lowest position for GC baseball comes from D2BaseballNews.com, (D2BBN) as the Bobcats are No. 8. In the D2BBN poll, the Bobcats are second among the four PBC schools in that ranking, behind only No. 2 Lander University.
The squad will be back in action and on the road Friday, March 21 at 6:30 p.m. traveling to GRU Augusta.
