AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Peach Belt Conference (PBC) released its weekly baseball awards Tuesday, with Georgia College sophomore first baseman Clay Ardeeser (Loganville, Ga.) taking home PBC Player of the Week honors.
Ardeeser went 7-for-14 (.500) this week with a home run, six RBI and five runs scored. The sophomore slugged a whopping .786, adding a double as well among his seven hits.
The big game for Ardeeser came in the win at UNC Pembroke Sunday, helping decide the 2-1 series win. Ardeeser went 3-for-4 with four RBI and two runs, including a solo home run. The first baseman was nearly flawless in the field, with one error in 40 chances. He is currently tied for third in the PBC in RBI and for seventh in home runs.
The Bobcats have had 32 PBC Players of the Week in program history, dating back to pitcher Rusty Kea taking the first one in PBC history March 18, 1992.
The Bobcats are back in action Friday, March 8 at 6 p.m. hosting Georgia Southwestern State University at John Kurtz Field.
