MILLEDGEVILE, Ga. – Righty reliever Jordan Brooks (Macon, Ga.) of the No. 24 Georgia College baseball team (24-10, 12-6 PBC) was named the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Freshman of the Week, the conference office announced Tuesday.
Brooks made three appearances in relief for the Bobcats, pitching 4 2/3 innings with three hits and no earned runs allowed. He began with two innings against Toccoa Falls College for the win, then entered the second game of the No. 3 Lander University series in the eighth inning with the tying run on base. The freshman retired two straight batters to get out of the jam and the Bobcats won 5-4.
He returned in Sunday's rubber game, pitching two innings and allowing two hits and an unearned run to get the save over Lander in an 8-7 contest. He struck out four on the week and is tied for ninth in the PBC in saves.
The Bobcats are back in action Wednesday, April 10 at 3 p.m. traveling to Erskine College.
