MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – This is the ninth update on former Georgia College student-athletes working their way through the ranks of professional baseball.
Michael Antonini (2007)
Pitcher for the Chattanooga Lookouts of the Double-A Southern League, affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers … Has compiled a 9-8 record thus far with a 3.82 ERA in 127 1/3 innings of work … Antonini has a fantastic strikeout-to-walk ratio, currently sitting at near 3-to-1 … He surrendered two earned run in in five innings of work for the Lookouts against the Carolina Mudcats, striking out six … Opponents are hitting .264 against Antonini this season.
Andy Reichard (2007)
Pitcher for the San Jose Giants of the Class A Advanced California League, affiliate of the San Francisco Giants … Reichard has thrown in 24 games with 11 starts, compiling an ERA of 3.02 and a 7-2 record in 86 1/3 innings of work … Opponents are hitting .263 off the righty … Won his most recent outing, giving up one run to the Lancaster Jethawks in six innings, fanning five.
Richard Pirkle (2011)
Pirkle is a catcher for the Tri-City Dust Devils, the Class-A Short Season affiliate of the Colorado Rockies … Pirkle is 10-42 (.238) over 14 games with a home run and three doubles … Has driven in seven and scored five times.
Alex Burkard (2010)
Burkard is in rookie ball pitching for the AZL Angels … The big lefty has made 11 appearances with nine starts for the Angels, going 4-4 with a 4.89 ERA in 53 1/3 innings … In his most recent appearance, he gave up five runs in just three innings, striking out one against the AZL Cubs.
Brandon Anderson (2007)
An outfielder with the Windy City ThunderBolts of the Independent Frontier League … Anderson has appeared in 78 games, hitting .287 with a team-best 60 runs, 19 RBI and a team-high 41 stolen bases.
Martin Dewald (2010)
The righty was traded to the Kansas City T-Bones of the Independent American Association of Professional Baseball … Dewald has made 17 appearances with a 4.42 ERA and 14 strikeouts over 18 1/3 innings.
Sean Harrell (2010)
Outfielder re-signed with the Southern Illinois Miners of the Independent Frontier League June 29 … Leading the team in hitting at .328 on 45-of-137 … Has scored 28 runs, driven in 12 and stolen 14 bases.
Brendan Malkowski (2010)
The righthander is a starter for the Southern Illinois Miners of the Independent Frontier League … He has made 15 starts, going 8-3 with a 3.98 ERA and 38 strikeouts over 86 innings … Threw 5 2/3 innings in his last outing giving up three runs and striking out only one.
