AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Peach Belt Conference (PBC) announced the PBC Baseball All-Academic Team recently, with Georgia College junior outfielder Heine Rivera (Fayetteville, Ga.) earning a spot.
Rivera was one of 20 players to earn slots on the list, thanks to his 3.68 GPA in biology. He is a top pinch-hit and pinch-running option for the Bobcats this season, playing in 33 games with 15 starts. He is hitting .262 with 12 runs scored and seven RBI. The outfielder is also a perfect 4-for-4 in stolen base attempts.
In the four-year history of the program, the Bobcats have put seven student-athletes on the PBC Baseball All-Academic lists.
The Bobcats are back in action today, May 10 at 4 p.m., facing Francis Marion University in day two of the PBC Tournament.
