#28 GC Baseball Serves as Miracle League Buddies
MACON, Ga. – The No. 28 Georgia College baseball team continued its ongoing relationship with the Macon Miracle League by serving as Miracle League Buddies; helping out at a game Saturday.
“This is our third year with the Miracle League,” said head coach Tom Carty. “Our players really enjoy being “buddies” at the games. Each year we learn so much from the players at Miracle League about determination, teamwork and sportsmanship. They give a lot more to us than we give to them. This is a great partnership between Bobcat Baseball and Miracle League. We hope we can continue to have them as our community partner for years to come.”
With the slogan of “Every Child Deserves a Chance to Play Baseball” The Miracle League provides children with mental and/or physical challenges an opportunity to play baseball as a team member in an organized league. The league utilizes an ADA approved synthetic rubber turf field that allows all children with special needs an opportunity to play on a “level”-playing surface. The Miracle League allows these children an opportunity to finally play baseball for the first time in their lives.
