AUGUSTA, Ga. – Junior Cody Maas (Alpharetta, Ga.) of the Georgia College baseball team (25-16, 15-8 PBC) was selected the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Player of the Week, the conference office announced Monday. Maas is the first Bobcat to pick up the honor this season.
Maas was a run-producing machine in four games last week, hitting .421 with four doubles, a home run and 12 RBI. The junior had multiple hits in three of the four games, starting with a 2-for-5 outing with three RBIs against West Georgia. He then hit .429 in a three-game series at Augusta State, driving in four runs in each of the first two games.
He doubled twice in the opener, then hit a three-run home run in game two. Maas drove in another run in the series finale, giving him at least one RBI in all four games. He also scored five times and had a .789 slugging percentage. Maas is third in the PBC in home runs and RBI.
The Bobcats are back in action Wednesday, April 18 at 6 p.m., hosting Toccoa Falls College.
