Bobcat Baseball Releases Spring 2011 Schedule 

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Georgia College baseball team and head coach Tom Carty are pleased to announce the release of the 2011 spring schedule, featuring five teams in the top-30 two of which are from the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) from last season's Collegiate Baseball Magazine NCAA Division II Coaches' Poll.

The Bobcats are coming off a dream season finishing 42-17, first in the conference, winning the NCAA Southeast Regional and advancing to the semi-finals of the Division II College World Series losing to eventual champions the University of Southern Indiana.

The Bobcats look to start the new season with a mixture of new and old players from last year's World Series team.

Georgia College kicks off the 2011 season with No. 5 University of Tampa Friday, Feb. 4 in Tampa, Fla. for a doubleheader starting at 3 p.m., with the series wrapping up Saturday at 1 p.m.

Carty's Cats first home stint starts with a doubleheader against the University of West Georgia Sunday Feb. 13 at 1 p.m. They finish with three games against Pfieffer University Friday, Feb. 18 at 3 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 19 at 1 p.m. and finishing Sunday, Feb. 20 at 12 p.m.

The Bobcats then travel to No. 20 Valdosta State University for one game Wednesday, Feb. 23 at 4 p.m. After a four-game home stint Georgia College travels to Peach Belt Conference (PBC) foe and No. 21 North Georgia for a three-game set consisting of one game Friday, March 4 at 6 p.m., and ending with a doubleheader Saturday, March 5 at 2 p.m.

The Bobcats then travel on the road against Augusta State University with a doubleheader Saturday, March 12 at 1 p.m. and finishing the series Sunday March 13 at 1 p.m. Their first home conference action is Friday, March 18 when the Bobcats knock heads with No. 11 Columbus State University, wrapping up with a doubleheader Saturday, March 19 at 1 p.m.

In April Georgia College wraps up the season finishing with seven out of eight home games but not before they face off at No. 25 UNC Pembroke in a doubleheader Saturday, April 9 at 1 p.m. and finishing the three-game set off Sunday, April 10 at 1 p.m. The Bobcats close out the season on Senior Day with a doubleheader Saturday, April 30 at 2 p.m. against Armstrong Atlantic University.
