MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – Georgia College baseball (2-1) players Richard Pirkle (Norcross, Ga.) and Matthew Robinson (Hull, Ga.) garnered Player of the Week and Freshman of the Week, respectively, as announced by the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Tuesday.

Pirkle was exceptional as the Bobcats took two of three games at No. 5 Tampa. The senior catcher hit .462 (6-13) with two home runs and a 1.077 slugging percentage. He had hits in all three games, going 2-for-5 in the opener and 3-for-5 in the final game. He cranked a pair of solo home runs in games two and three and scored the game-winning run in Sunday's rubber game. Pirkle scored five runs in the three games and played all 27 innings at catcher.

In his first two collegiate appearances on the mound, Robinson picked up two saves against No. 5 Tampa. The freshman pitched 2.2 innings and allowed one hit and one walk while striking out one and holding opponents to a .125 average. He picked up the final two outs in his first appearance, needing only eight pitches, and then pitched the final two innings of the rubber game as the Bobcats took the series.
