GC Baseball Takes No. 13 Spot in College Baseball Lineup Preseason Poll

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The 2011 College Baseball Lineup Division II Baseball Top 30 Rankings were released Tuesday, putting Georgia College as the second highest Peach Belt Conference (PBC) team placing at No. 13.

The Bobcats finished last season with an outstanding 42-17 record that led them to the NCAA Division II World Series. During the 2010 season the Bobcats earned both the PBC Championship and the NCAA Southeast Region title. Their 2010 campaign led to a third place finish in the final poll.

The UC San Diego Tritons earned the No. 1 spot, while 2010 National Champions Southern Indiana dropped to No. 2. Central Missouri rounds out the top three.
 
GC is one of four Peach Belt teams in the poll. Francis Marion finished four spots ahead of the Bobcats at No. 9. Behind the Bobcats were Columbus State who was No. 16, while USC Aiken rounded-out the poll at No. 30.
 
The Bobcats will be back in action beginning Friday, Feb. 4 at No. 11 University of Tampa at 3 p.m. Their first home game comes Sunday, Feb. 13 against West Georgia beginning at 1:00 p.m.
