MARTINEZ, Ga. – The No. 15 Georgia College baseball team (35-15) took the No. 2-seed in the Peach Belt Conference West Division, and has learned their fate for the upcoming PBC Tournament. The Bobcats will take on East No. 3-seed UNC Pembroke (38-10) Sunday, May 8 at 9 a.m. in Columbus, Ga. at Golden Park.
Host Columbus State University is the West No. 1-seed, set to face East No. 4 Lander University at 4 p.m. Francis Marion University is the East No. 1, and takes on West No. 4 Augusta State University at 12:30 p.m. East No. 2 Armstrong Atlantic faces West No. 3 North Georgia.
For the first time, the Peach Belt will use the NCAA World Series bracket which creates two four-team brackets with a single championship game. There is a crossover on Tuesday following the second set of elimination games. The double-elimination bracket will feature four games a day for the first three days of the tournament with start times at 9 a.m., 12:30 p.m., 4 p.m. and 7:30 pm.
