MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – In an effort to give back to the Baldwin County community that has been so supportive of the Georgia College baseball program, head coach Tom Carty is proud to announce the first of two Youth Baseball Nights at John Kurtz Field Friday, March 18 at 6 p.m.
While the Bobcats square off with Peach Belt Conference (PBC) rival Columbus State University, the program welcomes all youngsters to come out and enjoy the game. Prior to the game, the earliest arrivals will be allowed to run on the field for pre-game announcements and stand with the Bobcats for the National Anthem.
In addition, each youth that brings a baseball glove will receive a coupon for a free popcorn at the concession stand. After the contest, the youngsters will be welcomed on the field to run the bases, as well as meet the players and staff.
The Georgia College Department of Athletics, back-to-back winners of the PBC Commissioner's Cup, sponsors 10 varsity athletic programs at the NCAA Division II level. As a Division II program, Bobcat Athletics prides itself on balancing the life of the student-athlete, evidenced by the teams' multiple appearances in post-season competition as well as documented academic success and community-service involvement.
