MARTINEZ, Ga. – After hitting .700 (14-of-20) this past week, Sean Harrell (Martinez, Ga.) of the Georgia College & State University baseball team (11-8, 4-2 PBC) was named Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Player of the Week. This is Harrell’s first such honor in 2010 and the second-straight PBC weekly award for the Bobcats this season as Martin Dewald (Mannheim, Germany) was named conference Pitcher of the Week March 9.
After sweeping PBC foe Augusta State University, Harrell compiled two homeruns, including a grand slam, hit two doubles, a triple and finished with 11 RBI and 11 runs scored for a 1.200 slugging percentage. The senior outfielder leads the Peach Belt batting .466, is second in on-base percentage (.529) and ninth in slugging percentage (.685).
Georgia College travels to Columbus State University March 19-20 for a PBC weekend series.
